10 Actors We Want To Join Henry Cavill In Amazon’s ‘Warhammer 40,000’ Series

Henry Cavill will be an executive producer and star in the Warhammer 40K series for Amazon Studios, which means he will have to surround himself with other talented actors to fill the many roles. It has been announced that Cavill will no longer be playing Superman in the DC Cinematic Universe, following the announcement that he will not be reprising Geralt of Rivia after the witcher season three. News then followed that he would be developing Warhammer 40Kand the speculation officially began.

40K War Hammer takes place in a future where humanity is plagued by darkness and chaos. There are monsters, aliens, and supernatural beings vying for supremacy. Millions of years after the intergalactic war in Heaven between the Ancients, C’tan and the Necrons, humanity has risen during the Age of Terra. They traveled the galaxy and developed advanced technology and populated planets throughout the galaxy, but the rise of the Chaos God Slaanesh born from the excess of the ancient Eldar species halted Warp travel and created unrest everywhere. .

Here are some of the actors we’d love to see in Warhammer 40K.

Ron Perlman – Apollo Diomedes

The actor playing Apollo Diomedes must have a sense of gravity, and Ron Perlman is able to provide it. Apollo was once the Captain of the Honor Guard for the Blood Ravens Space Marine Chapter, and he’s not someone you want to cross paths with. He survived countless battles and left behind a trail of defeated enemies. Some of them include the Ork Warboss Manstompa Megakilla and the Chaos Sorceror Anupharis the Cruel. Apollo seems like an extreme character, but Perlman could do this character justice.

Brian Cox – Angron

Angronius of Nuceria is Lord of the Red Sands and Primarch of the Traitor Legion of World Eaters. He is evil incarnate and has a burning hatred for the Master of Mankind. He’s really monstrous, so this look could be achieved using CGI, in which case this character will need someone who can strike fear into everyone’s hearts with a booming voice, and the Succession the patriarch definitely fits this bill. Cox could go from the boardroom to this fantasy epic with the utmost of ease and could shake the foundations of creation.

Sam Reid – Sanguinius

Sam Reid was wonderful as Lestat De Lioncourt in the new TV series adaptation of Interview with the Vampire, and he would equally wonderfully embody Sanguinius the Great Angel. Sanguinius is the Primarch of the Space Marines’ Blood Angels Legion and has a coolness that would be a walk in the park for Reid, but he’s also multi-faceted. He’ll need to be battle-ready and possess psychic talents, and Reid is already used to going from romantic charmer to bloodthirsty vampire.

Jessica Chastain – Jain Zar

Picture via Universal Pictures

Jain Zar is a serious warrior. She is the Phoenix Lord and the founder of the Howling Banshees Warrior Aspect of Craftworld Aeldari. She had the privilege of being chosen as the first warrior of her race to serve the Asurmen after the fall of the Aeldari, so this is not a role that can be taken lightly. Chastain has proven time and time again that she is one of the best actresses capable of achieving incredible levels of passion while staying grounded. His role as a badass CIA agent in The 355 proves she can handle action sequences.

Tati Gabrielle – Lelith Hesperax

Lelith Hesperax is the definition of mortal. She’s a Drukhari succubus of the Wych cult and you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better champion than her. She has fought and won countless battles in the Gladiator Zones of Commorragh and she will need to be able to move without having to use many words. Tati Gabrielle’s work in The 100 and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina proves that she is a force to be reckoned with and could bring a lot to such a hardcore character.

Charles Dance – Asdrubael Vect

Adrubael Vect is the Supreme Lord of the Blackheart Kabalah, and he is known for his deviousness. It’s an ancient evil and so it takes an actor with the appropriate stature to bring it across. Charles Dance played Tywin Lannister in Game of Thrones, where the patriarch wasn’t one to mince words. When he entered a room, everyone paid attention to him out of respect or fear. Dance could take this even further and play someone whose evil knows no bounds.

Diego Luna – Pedro Kantor

Warhammer 40K is not without its heroes, and Pedro Kantor would be a delight to see. He is the Chapter Master of the Crimson Fists Chapter of the Space Marines, and he stands out from the other soldiers. Luna showed in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and in Andor how good he is at being a fearless hero, and audiences would want to root for this character.

Aldis Hodge – Vulkan He’stan

Vulkan He’stan is an admirable Space Marine from the Salamanders Space Marine chapter. His deeds were so respected that he became the father of the forge and was given a quest that is only passed on to the best heroes in the chapter. Like Pedro, he cares about normal civilians and goes out of his way to protect them from those who seek to harm them. Aldis Hodge previously played the warrior Thanagarian in black adamwhere his ferocity matched his attachment, and he could bring that depth to Vulkan as well.

Ian Glen – Dante

Picture via HBO

Dante is an angel and a disciple of Sanguinius. He commanded the Master Chapter of the Space Marine Chapter of the Blood Angels for over 1,000 years, so it’s important that the actor who portrays him is battle tested. Ian Glen played Daenerys’ Targaeryen ally Ser Jorah Mormont on Game of Thrones, and his loyalty to a cause he deems worthy matches Dante’s motives. Dante wears power armor which includes a golden death mask and an iron halo. It would be a treat to see Glen get dressed again after so long.

Anna Torv – Yvraine

Picture via FOX

Yvraine holds high status as an Eldar who serves as an emissary for the Eldar God Ynnead and has lived many lives. She was a dancer, warlock, and warrior, and she even became a corsair leader for a time. Fringe’s Anna Torv would be an inspired choice for this character. Torv is best known for Fringe and Mindhunters and she’s already shown she can play super serious agent characters, but it would be a dream to see her stretch out and step into the realm of fantasy. He is an immensely powerful being and what happens to him plays a major role in the events of this story.
