Our most anticipated PlayStation 5 games for 2023 | Digital Trends Spanish

After a historic year with games like Horizon Forbidden West Y God of War: Ragnarok, PlayStation 5 2023 has a lot to live up to. The first part of the year will be driven by third-party exclusives and the release of the PlayStation VR2, while the second half of the year will hinge on another sequel to a critically acclaimed PS4 game. It seems that Xbox and Nintendo will only increase their competition next year, so Sony needs to offer a lot of PS5 exclusives to be relevant.

Ahead of the new year, we’re rounding up the PS5 2023 exclusives that should be on your radar. We only list games with firm release windows, so don’t expect to see Marvel’s Wolverine, Death Stranding 2 either Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake on this list. Still, since Forspoken until Stellar Bladethese seven titles should provide a lot of varied fun on PS5 next year.

Forspoken—January 24

Season: A Letter to the Future

Season: A Letter to the Future – Release Date Reveal Trailer | PS5 & PS4 Games

Season: A Letter to the Future looks like the most relaxing next PlayStation exclusive. It looks like a cozy game about riding a bike, recording sounds, and taking photos of a beautiful world that’s about to end, so it sounds like it could be an early indie favorite of 2023. Unfortunately, its development has been rocky, with abuse reports in the workplace that arise in the midst of the season: a letter for the development of the future. If that doesn’t bother you and the concept intrigues you enough, then consider checking out its demo on PlayStation Store before it launches on January 31.

Horizon Call of the Mountain—February 22

Horizon VR: Call of the Mountain – Official Gameplay Trailer | PlayStation State of Play 2022

While next spring may seem a bit quieter for PS5 owners, that’s when Sony will launch the PlayStation VR2 on February 22. The jewel in the crown of its launch line is Horizon Call of the Mountain, a first-person virtual reality game that allows players to explore and battle cybernetic enemies in the dystopian sci-fi world of Horizon. There are plenty of other PlayStation VR2 launch titles to look forward to as well, including Fantavision 202Xa sequel to a cult classic PS2 puzzle game, as well as the on-rails horror spiritual successor from Until Dawn: Rush of Blood, The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR. Still, due to its impressive graphical fidelity and its status as a first-party developer, Horizon Call of the Mountain it’s the only must-play PlayStation VR2 title on PS5 that we’re currently aware of.

Final Fantasy XVI—June 22

FINAL FANTASY XVI “AMBITION”

The next mainline Final Fantasy game will be exclusive to the PlayStation console at launch, and it looks great. Final Fantasy XVI follows a man named Clive who is on a quest for revenge on the war-torn world of Valisthea and is able to summon Eikons based on the summons from the series. final fantasy to help him in battle. This entry looks darker than previous Final Fantasy games, playing on the dark fantasy and political agitation hooks popularized by game of Thrones. Its real-time action RPG gameplay also looks quite stimulating, so we can’t wait to take it into our hands Final Fantasy XVI when it finally comes out on June 22.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 – Fall 2023

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is the next biggest PS5 game heading into 2023. Its 2018 predecessor is one of the most fun superhero games ever made, thanks to how satisfying it is to move around New York as Spider-Man, and 2020’s follow-up focused in Miles Morales it is just as funny while telling a more contained and emotional story. We can’t wait to see what Insomniac Games does with a new Spider-Man game where both Peter and Miles are playable, as well as what they do with new characters like Kraven the Hunter and Venom. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 It will likely be the standout PS5 game of the year when it launches in the fall of 2023.

Pacific Drive–TBA

Pacific Drive – Coming 2023 for PlayStation 5 and PC

Self-described by developer Ironwood Studios as being “highway-like,” Pacific Drive is a supernatural survival game in which players try to survive heavy storms and supernatural threats while continually upgrading their car as they drive across the Pacific Northwest. While Forza Motorsport will offer a high-fidelity racing game on Xbox, Pacific Drive you’re having a lot more fun playing with what may be the premise of a game about driving a car. Due to its strangely charming premise, Pacific Drive it’s on our radars heading into 2023, even if it doesn’t yet have a specific release date or window for next year.

Stellar Blade—TBA

Stellar Blade (previously Project EVE) – State of Play Sep 2022 Story Trailer | PS5 Games

Stellar Blade is a fast-paced action game that has made a strong impression in the PlayStation game announcement livestreams in which it has appeared. It is a post-apocalyptic sci-fi game that follows a girl named Eve who is trying to save Earth from alien invaders. For fans of action titles from developers like PlatinumGames, Stellar Blade looks like it’ll scratch that same intense combat itch. It also features over-the-top characters and world design that will appeal to both manga and anime fans. It doesn’t have a specific release date, but we know that Stellar Blade it will be released for PS5 sometime in 2023.
