After the global success of the witcherNetflix has released the prequel series, The Witcher: Origin of Blood. Created by Declan Barra and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, the fantasy-filled show is set around 1,200 years before its predecessor. While showcasing the first “prototype” of Witcher, the series also explores how the dual worlds of humans and creatures became a dangerous one.
The Witcher: Origin of Blood follows seven outcast elves, banished from their world. When an all-powerful enemy threatens the very existence of their world, the seven unite to form an unlikely team. Fans who loved this show, steeped in fantasy and mystical themes, should check out similar magical series that transport viewers to different kinds of worlds.
“The Magicians” (2015 – 2020)
Quentin Coldwater (Jason Ralph) is recruited to the mysterious Brakebills University in the supernatural series Syfy magicians, where he discovers that the magic of the fairy tales children grew up with is indeed very real and very dangerous. He meets other students, and they test their abilities and form both new and problematic relationships.

‘Warrior Nun’ (2020 – 2022)
After waking up in a morgue, Ava (Alba Baptist) an orphaned teenager gets a new lease on life. The catch is that she now has a divine artifact embedded in her back and superpowers that throw her into a battle between heaven and hell. Ava discovers that she is now a member of a long-forgotten group called The Order of the Cruciform Sword that has been tasked with battling demons on Earth.
Powerful forces representing both Heaven and Hell want to find Ava and control her and her powers. warrior nunis such a badass show in terms of cinematography, storylines, and stunts. The emotions are beautifully executed and the whole plot is incredibly written.
“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” (1997 – 2005)

Together, Buffy and her friends will defeat demons, endure a succession of apocalypses, finish high school and college, and most importantly, realize that growing up can sometimes be physically hellish.
‘The Shadow and the Bone’ (2021 -)
The young cartographer Alina Starkov (Jessie May Li) unwittingly discovers that she has the potential to alter the course of devastating warfare in a world where terrifyingly dark forces have taken control. In shadow and boneAlina learns that she will play a crucial role in this fight as she is the only one who can summon the light.
When news that a Sun Summoner has been located spreads across the land, Kaz Brekker (Freddy Carter), the leader of a group known as the Crows, is sent to kidnap her. Fjerdan witch hunters are sent to assassinate him. In her quest to find the power that would allow her to destroy the Fold and free Ravka, Alina must accept who she is and choose who she can truly trust.
“The Shannara Chronicles” (2016 – 2017)
The Ellcrys, an elven tree, is about to disappear in The Shannara Chronicles. The bad news is that the tree served as the only magical barrier preventing the demon world from entering the four lands. Only Amberle Elessedil (Drayton Poppy), the princess of the elves, has the ability to save the tree.
She must activate a magic that the Elves have not used or accessed in countless years. She travels in search of missing magic with the half-elf Wil Ohmsford (Austin Butler) aid. Joined by the human criminal Eretria (Ivana Baquero), the unlikely trio realize their perilous mission won’t be easy.
‘Penny Dreadful’ (2014 – 2016)
Ethan Chandler (Josh Hartnet), an American shooter and touring artist, is hired by Malcolm Murray (Timothy Dalton) and Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) to help save Murray’s daughter from an unknown beast in dreadful penny. A young doctor named Victor Frankenstein (Harry Treadaway), who is being chased by an undead creature created by Frankenstein, offers to help the group.
The group begins to realize that who, or more accurately, what they are pursuing is not exactly of this world. While this is happening, Vanessa begins to be haunted by Lucifer, who wants her as his wife and queen.
‘The Sandman’ (2022 – )
In an effort to negotiate perpetual life, a wizard traps Death’s younger brother, Dream, instead. The sand man. The wizard kept him imprisoned in a glass vessel for many years out of concern for his own safety. Dream, also known as Morpheus, runs away and goes in search of his stolen magic items.
Once he accomplishes this, he can rebuild both his world – known as “The Dreaming” – and ours by restoring the harmony of dreams for humanity. With season 2 already confirmed, now is the perfect time to start watching the series, adapted from the legendary comic book series by Neil Gaiman.
“Games of Thrones” (2011 – 2019)
For domination of the Seven Kingdoms, several wealthy families fight on the legendary continent of Westeros. An old enemy returns to destroy them all as unrest erupts among the kingdoms of men. The last heirs of a recently usurped dynasty plan to reconquer their homeland across the Strait.
It’s not only a rare television program that respects and honors its original source material, but it’s also one of the best, most gripping, and binge-worthy programs in recent memory on its own merits.
‘The Rings of Power’ (2022 – )
A cast of characters, known and unknown, are followed in this epic drama set thousands of years before the events of JRR Tolkienit is The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings as they face the dreaded return of evil to Middle-earth. These lands and these people will leave behind legacies that will last long after they are gone.
From the remotest corners of the Misty Mountains to the magnificent forests of the elven capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, this story takes fans through the history of Middle-earth. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is far from perfect, but it’s a must-have watch for fans of the beloved franchise.
‘House of the Dragon’ (2022 – )
172 years before Daenerys Targaryen was born, the Targaryen dynasty is at the height of its dominance. When King Viserys (Paddy Constantine) named her daughter Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock and Emma D’Arcy) as heir to the Iron Throne, they begin to slowly fall from power. However, the court is surprised when Rhaenyra retains her heiress status when Viserys subsequently bears a boy, causing discord throughout the kingdom.
With the attraction between the House of Green and the House of Black, the show is full of deception, betrayal, and the dark side of love. Dragon House deserves all the hype and is ideal for viewers who want to be transported to an intensely dangerous yet stunning world where fantasy and politics collide.
