There are two official trailers for Nope, released by Universal Pictures. The first, released in February 2022, is more of a quick outline of the plot, while the second, longer one, released in June 2022, gives a little more detail on what you can expect from this horror story of science fiction. One of the main differences between the two trailers is how the perspective of the supernatural event changes for everyone. While the first clip shows the fear felt by the Haywood siblings and the other townspeople, the second trailer reveals that despite her fear, Emerald wants to monetize this event and use it to their advantage. The second trailer also shows how the Haywoods would fight the situation, but with a little help.

As for the overall vibe of the film, expect all the sci-fi thriller elements with a more horror angle, woven into chaotic and mysterious events with horses running amok, people screaming , the works. There is also a small undertone of dark humor as seen in some scenes and dialogue.

What is Nope?

Picture via Universal Pictures

The title of Nope is a little giveaway of the movie’s alien theme, which could mean Not from Planet Earth or Not on Planet Earth. Either way, it’s about supernatural forces terrorizing a southwestern ranch. The story of Nope revolves around an unidentified flying object. But these aren’t your average old school UFOs with ugly green creatures coming out and taking over the human race. Random objects falling from the sky and a flying saucer-like object destroying everything in its path is a direct clue to an extraterrestrial presence. But we don’t see them yet. And the siblings’ approach to the presence of aliens is also different from what we’re used to seeing in sci-fi movies like these. The heart of the story is not the flying object or what it does. Nope see you. It’s bizarre, creepy, and unique in its narrative, which, needless to say, is what Peele excels at in his films. That’s all we’re going to reveal here (you wouldn’t want us to spoil the movie, would you?) but here’s a link to our article explaining any questions you might have about the movie, right at the case where.
