  • Unlike her character, Stranger Things actress Millie Bobby Brown admits she hates waffles

Millie explains how Eleven’s infamous food obsession took tremendous effort.

Since the fourth season of Netflix’s supernatural marvel, Stranger Things, recently concluded, leaving audiences around the world on a gigantic cliffhanger and poor Hawkins, Indiana in worse shape than ever, the ongoing conflict with the Upside Down practically forced Eleven and the others to leave their normal lives behind. No more weekly Dungeons & Dragons getaways to Mike’s basement, no more trips to a wholesome ’80s mall for movies and ice cream, and no more Eggo waffle binges for Eleven. The latter probably doesn’t mind Eleven Millie actress Bobby Brown, however, according to a report from Cinema Blend, she revealed in an interview with Wired that she actually doesn’t like waffles at all.

One of the most memorable aspects of Season 1 was that a much younger Eleven was found by Mike and his friends at night in the forest. Sheltering him in his parents’ basement, Mike offers him one of the few foods he can make: Eggo waffles. Although she has never eaten such a thing before, she immediately falls in love with the breakfast treat, even straight from the box. She was later found stealing several boxes of Eggos from a local supermarket. They would become Eleven’s trademark for a time, and actual sales of the classic waffle brand actually skyrocketed everywhere thanks to the show.

Despite this otherwise cute aspect of her character, Millie Bobby Brown does not humorously appreciate these Eggos. In fact, she had to do a workaround on the set of Stranger Things every time she shot scenes where she ate waffles.

No I do not [like waffles]. People think I do. But actually, in Stranger Things, I had a little spitting bucket next to me and I was spitting in it. Because I couldn’t swallow the waffles because I was nauseous.

While she’s certainly not the only actress who has had to eat or drink something she personally dislikes for the character she’s playing, it’s still a bit of a comedic revelation for fans.

Millie’s personal connection to ‘El’

Although she doesn’t share the same food tastes as her beloved heroine, Millie still cares about Eleven and likes to show it off. She chose to get the exact same “011” digital tattoo on her wrist as her character, and proudly displays it in the same interview, which can be viewed below.

Millie will reprise her breakout role once again in the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. While a release date or even an approximate stage has yet to be announced, given the magnitude of the previous season and production not expected to begin until May, it’s safe to say that we won’t be getting no trailer until maybe the holiday season. .
