The Serie ”riverdale” just confirmed the release date for its seventh and final season. The story based on the volumes of Archie Comics will be broadcast on The C.W. next March 29.
The announcement was made by The CW channel, after it was confirmed in May 2022 that season 7 of ”Riverdale” would be the last of the popular program, bringing the adventures of Archie and his friends to an end within the TV.
Season 6 of ”Riverdale” saw all the characters traveling back to the year 1950, with Archie Andrews, played by KJ Apa and his group of friends back in high school, unaware of the various murders and mayhem they experienced in the previous seasons.

“Each season we explore the tropes of a specific genre, whether it’s supernatural, pulp, or crime,” the ‘Riverdale’ showrunner recently explained, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. “This year our genre is the 1950s, so we’re in dialogue with the American myth of what the 1950s was like versus reality.”
The final season will see each of its characters living this new life set in the 1950s, questioning whether what they are living is reality. The creator even assured that the series will have a complete narrative change very soon, with episode 2 presenting a very dark story for its characters.
In season seven, Apa will be playing a version of the series’ protagonist who isn’t quite as tormented. ”When we meet Archie here, he’s a clean-cut teenager from the 1950s,” Aguirre-Sacasa explained. “He’s on his own journey. He is a more innocent and romantic type of character.

In the same way, the new season will put aside several of the relationships between the characters of ”Riverdale”, being a kind of restart for the different plots that have been created throughout history.
”It’s been a great way to get back to basics, which is for high school kids to discover themselves, for kids to have their first times,” Aguirre-Sacasa explained. “We can discover these moments or relive moments that we have explored in the past in a completely different context.”
The seventh season of ”Riverdale” will premiere on March 29 on The CW.
