oz is a prison drama set in the fictional Oswald State Penitentiary. It follows the story of a group of inmates trying to survive and cope with life in prison by battling oppressive guards and the system itself. In particular, the vicissitudes of the fifth wing, a group of inmates locked up in transparent cells with Plexiglas glass and a large atrium where most of the inmates spend their time. A social experiment if you will in a mysterious city, there is no shortage of violence and the difficulties of prison life.
