Netflix just renewed merlin (Wednesday) for a second season, after the successful debut it had on the platform at the end of 2022. The series starring Jenna Ortega follows the eldest daughter of Homer and Morticia in her days as a student at the Nunca Más Academy, a school for outcasts with unusual abilities. The project was developed by renowned filmmaker Tim Burton for the streaming.

In the midst of uncertainty caused by recent press reports (a rumor suggested that it would be moved to Prime Video), the “N” giant officially announced that the story of Merlina Addams will continue with more episodes. For now, it is unknown when filming will begin, but it is expected that her protagonist and the rest of the cast will return to interpret her characters.
The production led by Ortega is the second most watched English-speaking series in the entire history of Netflix with 1.237 billion hours viewed in the first 28 days of its launch.
