Lockwood Agency (Lockwood & Co.) is a new supernatural genre series that will join the catalog of Netflix in 2023. Created by Joe Cornish based on Jonathan Stroud’s literary saga, the fiction follows a couple of teenagers who hunt ghosts with nothing more than their wits and psychic abilities. Among its protagonists, we find one of the stars of Bridgerton: Ruby Stokeswho brought Francesca to life in the hit period drama.

Recently, the platform released the first official trailer and confirmed that the eight episodes will arrive in January of next year. The plot takes us to London in a context characterized by the coexistence of humanity with supernatural events, which is why two young ghost hunters with great talent face dangerous spirits every night.

Lockwood & Co is the name of the agency led by Lucy Carlyle, Anthony Lockwood and George Karim; and it differs from others because they do not have an adult staff to undertake these risky missions. In the process, the trio will have to deal with being underestimated by everyone and will aim to prove themselves to their older colleagues.
The television adaptation of Lockwood Agency was driven primarily by Joe Cornish, credited as showrunner, executive producer and screenwriter. Nira Park and Rachael Prior also executive produce the show. The project is based on the literary series by Jonathan Stroud which consists of five books (The Screaming Staircase, The Whispering Skull, The Hollow Boy, The Creeping Shadow Y The Empty Grave).

When the second season of Bridgerton in Netflix, the public had an expectation to see further development for Francesca, the sixth child in the family. Although Stokes had an important presence in the first three episodes, she had to leave the production in the middle of filming due to her new lead in supernatural fiction. Later, it was learned that she would not return due to her next engagements and she would be replaced by another actress.
Lockwood Agency is the reason why Ruby Stokes will no longer be part of the version live action of Julia Quinn’s novels, and it will also become her first major leading role for the small screen. The episodes of the first season can be seen from January 27, 2023 on the service streaming.
