Wednesday: 3 things we would like to see in season 2 of the Netflix series

After many weeks in the top 10 most-watched programs on Netflix, Wednesday continues to break audience records. And even if its renewal is not yet formalized, it’s a safe bet that the series created by Tim Burton will be entitled to a season 2 (if not more…). Here are 3 things we would like to see in the rest of Wednesday.

During the first season of Wednesdaythe character played by Jenna Ortega had joined the Nevermore Academy, a specialized establishment for people endowed with a particular gift, called the marginalized by the inhabitants of Jericho, the neighboring city.

And though she’s not keen on the idea, Wednesday found herself investigating unexplained murders around the school as well as a supernatural occurrence involving her parents 25 years prior. The end of season 1 taught us that Tyler was indeed the criminal but that Marilyn Thornhill (Christina Ricci) alias Laurel Gates was the real person responsible for all the murders.

Throughout Season 1, it was difficult to form an opinion about Larissa Weems, the headmistress of Nevermore Academy. At one point, it was even implied that she was an accomplice to Rowan’s murder since she attempted to cover up his death by impersonating him. In reality, even if she represented a formidable antagonist for Wednesday, the character played by Gwendoline Christie was simply doing her best to avoid the closure of her establishment. At the end of season 1, when she faces an unmasked Marilyn Thornhill, the latter injects her with belladonna poison, thus causing her death. However, this theory and this interview with Gwendoline Christie lead us to think that she could make a comeback in the rest of the series.

#2 – More Addams Family

Although the series is devoted to Wednesday, we would like to see more of the other members of the addams family in season 2. For fans of the movies The Addams Family (1991) and Addams Family Values (1993), it was a shame not to know more about this new version of the craziest family in the United States. Whether it’s Morticia, Gomez, or Uncle Fetid, viewers would like to see more sequences with this family endowed with an unequaled dark humor. And with Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, we can only ask for more!

#3 – A true friendship between Wednesday and Enid

On social media, many fans of the show have expressed that they would like to see Wednesday and Enid become a proper couple in future seasons. But first of all, you should the two characters expand on their fledgling friendship in Season 2. In an interview for The Hollywood ReporterAl Gough, the creator of the series, was open to this idea: This idea of sisterhood is key to the series. We’re not going to rule anything out, and, of course, sometimes the characters reveal themselves. »

Miles Millar, the other creator of the series, added: We are open to anything. We want to explore that friendship in any way we can, and while sometimes we can be misdirected by fans, we really want to be open to seeing how those characters and that friendship develop. But like Al said, that friendship is key to our vision for the show.”. We can’t wait to see Wednesday and Enid become real BFFs (well, almost…)!
